The Mud And The Thirst - Frank

Un disco que me tiene enganchado estos últimos días es The Mud And The Thirst, primer álbum de larga duración de la formación donostiarra, Frank. Once elegantes canciones interpretadas en inglés, con una cuidada instrumentación rica en matices, de esencia rockera, aunque con  profundas reminiscencias de folk rock. Recién salido del horno, este prometedor cuarteto donostirarra, firma un grandísimo trabajo, más que recomendable. Un paso adelante en su carrera tras el también más que interesante Ep My Wild Kingdom. Desde la primera escucha, me enganchó la voz de Sara Comerón, -Ay que ver lo bien que canta esta mujer -, y lo bien y redonda que suena la banda. Muy potente la instrumentación que presentan al menos en el álbum. Con un poco de suerte, este viernes 26 de Febrero, me acerco a la Fnac a comprobar de primera mano si en directo suenan igual de bien. Mi canción de hoy, es para el segundo corte del álbum, el encargado de dar nombre al mismo, The Mud And The Thirst ;) Agur!

Frank es una formación donostiarra surgida en 2013, compuesta por Andoni Etxebeste (batería), Iñigo Bailador (guitarra eléctrica), Christian Rodríguez (bajo) y Sara Comerón (voz y guitarra acústica). En noviembre de ese mismo año, graban una Demo de tres temas, que publicaban en facebook y bandcamp, y la revista Mondosonoro selecciona como unas de las bandas revelación del año. En marzo de 2014 lanzan su primer EP, titulado My Wild Kingdom. Seis canciones con profundas reminiscencias de folk rock americano, que les ha llevado a recibir premios y tocar en importantes festivales del panorama nacional. En febrero 2016, acaban de lanzar su primer álbum de larga duración. Once cortes con esencia más rockera que sus anteriores, aunque manteniendo la raíz folk. Una cuidada y potente instrumentación y la portentosa voz de su  intérprete solista, Sara Comerón, destacan en este nuevo trabajo titulado The Mud And The Thirst.
